“WHO ASKED FOR WELL DONE?”

An alert Elyria Police Officer spotted smoke coming from the top of Nick’s Restaurant around 3am Friday morning.

Assistant Elyria Fire Chief Ron Brlas said that Firefighters had to force entry to the restaurant to find the source of the smoke. “I could pretty much tell as soon as we pulled up that the source was going to be food left cooking just by the strong smell in the area.” Once inside the Firefighters found that tray of burnt food cooking, or overcooking, on the stove. The building was ventilated and Firefighters were waiting for the owners to arrive to access the damage and to see who would not be welcome back into their kitchen.
