WEST ERIE AVE ROLL OVER
Lorain Firefighters worked to extricate the driver of a one car crash on West Erie Ave Wednesday morning, a crash that left the car on its roof and the man pinned inside.
The crash occurred in Lorain on W. Erie Ave between Oak Point and Baumhart Road leaving the car buried in the trees and on its roof. Firefighters using the Jaws of Life meticulously cut the driver out of the car for the LifeCare Paramedics. Due to the lengthy extrication time and seriousness of injuries, Metro LifeFlight was called to land on W. Erie near the scene. Due to safety concerns however LifeFlight diverted to Community Health Partners and took control of the patient from LifeCare at the helipad. The victim was then flown to Metro Health Medical Center in Cleveland.
The Lorain Police Traffic Division is investigating the crash.
