KIDS WERE PLAYING BALL WITH DOG

Lorain Animal Control Officer Mike Mattei says that the boy that was bitten yesterday was "playing ball with the Pit Bull" and it happened when they both went for the ball.

“Yesterday at about 4:55pm at 914 west 22nd in Lorain a group of about 7 or 8 kids were playing a game of ball. They were playing with the 2-yr-old pit bull that is 95 pounds. These kids belong to two neighboring families that are close. The dog belongs to one of the families and the kids always play with the dog. An 8-yr-old boy and the dog went for the ball at the same time, the kid grabbed the ball and the dog bit his arm, causing serious damage to the 8-yr-old's left arm.” Mattei says that this was simply an accident.

Mattei said that the owner of the Pit Bull was sited for “confinement of dogs dangerous and vicious” and for “annual registration of dogs.” The Lorain Animal Control has quarantined the Pit Bull.

So it was an accident, not an ATTACK! Let's give nature a break.

I'M TIRED OF PITT BULL ATTACKS ON CHILDREN. EVERY TIME IT HAPPENS THEY ALWAYS SAY THE DOG NEVER BIT ANYONE BEFORE. IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN GOOD WITH THE CHILDREN. THIS TYPE OF DOG WILL TURN. IS IT WORTH THE TRAUMA TO THE CHILDREN. ONE BITTEN CHILD IS ONE TO MUCH AND THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. ITS NOT ALWAYS THE OWNERS FAULT ITS THE BREAD.
