WEATHER ADVISORY

The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Lorain and surrounding counties.

The Advisory goes into effect from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m. Monday morning. A warm front will move into the area overnight and may become nearly stationary well after midnight.

A large area of freezing rain, sleet and snow will move east toward the region from the west overnight. Temperatures will continue to hover at or just below the freezing mark through the night. Temps are expected to warm up above freezing after sunrise Monday morning.

Light freezing rain will accumulate on exposed, untreated surfaces. Freezing rain accumulations of up to a tenth of an inch can be expected across the region.

Note: The National Weather Service issues a Winter Weather Advisory for a variety of reasons – Light Snow, Blowing Snow, Sleet, Freezing Rain, and Wind Chills. While the weather will be significant, the word Advisory implies that severe winter weather is not anticipated.
