HIGH ACCIDENT AREA

ADDS ANOTHER CRASH TO ITS LIST
Elyria Township – A two-car crash on Route 57 in Elyria Township Saturday afternoon sent two people to area hospitals.

Assistant Chief Russ Scarbrough of the Elyria Township Fire Department said that Firefighters treated and transported two victims, one to Community Health Partners in Lorain and the other to Avon Emergency Care Center. Captain Scarbrough said one other victim refused treatment on scene or transport to the hospital. Neither of the two victims who were transported seemed to have life threatening injuries.

The crash occurred on Route 57 at the traffic light where southbound traffic can cross the northbound lanes and enter the I-90 eastbound ramp. The white station wagon was crossing the northbound lanes when the green car struck it. Both cars had heavy front-end damage with air bag deployment.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
