SECOND MAN DIES AFTER SHOOTING

Elyria – A second man has died from gunshot injuries he suffered Sunday in his apartment on David Drive.

Michael Stump, 30 years old from Elyria, died Tuesday morning at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland after being shot in the head inside his apartment. His roommate, 31 year old David McDonough, remains in MetroHealth and is listed in critical condition with a gunshot wound to his stomach area.

Police are not releasing the identity of the man who was pronounced dead at the scene, only saying he was a 38 year old Hispanic male from Lorain. Police will release the name only after his family has been notified.

McDonough called 9-1-1 saying that two men broke into his apartment with guns and that he was shot in the stomach and he believed his roommate was dead.

Police are still looking for a man who was seen fleeing from the scene in a dark green conversion van. He was described as a black male, 5’8” tall, 220 to 230lbs and in his late 20’s.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Elyria Police Department at 440.323.3302 or 440.322.1926.
