STORE CLERK SHOT AND KILLED
Elyria – Elyria Police are working at this hour to identify the suspect in a late night robbery – homicide that took place at GAS USA on Middle Ave just after midnight.
Police and Paramedics were called to the gas station around 12:30am after friends of the victim called Police and said they could see the victim lying unresponsive and bleeding. When Officers and Paramedics arrived they found the 26-year-old clerk dead on the floor inside of the station office.
Police expect to release surveillance video from inside the station later today in an attempt to get help from the public in identifying the suspect.

i think it is time we add a project to the new school. how about an added parking lot right where gas usa is. this place has been trouble for so long. i have some friends with bull dozers and we could get this done by tonight.

The young woman murdered was my husbands goddaughter. So this is very personal. I'm angry that the youth of America are endangered species. As evidenced by this tragic death. Productive, young with a promising future all gone by all too common street violence. Please find those responsible. It won't help the grieving family, but it might save another family from having the same tragic events disrupt life as they know it. My deepest prayers and condolences

Why in the hell would anyone in there right mind let a relitive or anyone else for that matter work at gas usa , everyone knows it is in the heart of crack head heaven.This place is nothing more than a accident waiting to happen , when 90% of everyone who goes in there is on drugs , sells drugs or is just a part of that click . You must really be wanting to be a part of it if you put yourself in that situation. No gas clerk job is worth putting yourself in the middle of a powder keg situation with all the un desirables that frequent Gas USA .
There was a shooting there many years ago. The male clerk was shot in the neck. He survived the attack. The suspect was never identified.
well they caught the guy and thankful for that i knew her i go in there every now and then not to often cause of the trouble but to find out the guy lived across the street from me was also upseting me kids were scared and had to be evacuated for a while cause of this crazy guy . I hope he gets the maxium penetly for what he did to this grl and my heart goes out to the family as well!!
I just want to send my sympathy's to this young lady's family. I think something needs to be done to get Gas USA out of there. I agree that it is nothing but a crack head hangout and the only way to eliminate some of the problems is eliminating the area. I thought back a few years ago, they started cleaning it up there...what happened. Is it going to take another person to die there before they close up??? Anyhow, does anybody know if the young lady has kids, my kids would like to send them a teddy bear....or something if so.
This is so sad. Here is this young lady trying to make a living and this jerk just took her life. And for what? From my understanding she gave him the money and he still shot her Senseless, when I heard the bad news I just became numb and I angry. I feel for the family and friends she left behind. I hope this jerk gets what he deserves which is the electric chair. I hope you beg for your life like she probably did.
Why are drugs and drug dealers alowed to operate in ELyria , how come you never hear of EPD makeing drug busts in the city? Never a sting operation when GAs USA would be the perfect spot to put some under covers and do a sting, to the point the dealers would be afraid to do there bussieness there . Or is it that EPD turns the blind eye to dealers .......

We are still working on this. The South Elyria Block Watch has put in a great deal of work to rid the neighborhood of the problems at Gas USA. Currently they do not have a liquor license. This is fully due to the efforts of our group. Things have improved in the area but we need more citizen involvement. When you see things wrong in your area call the police. Become involved, we are the solution to these problems.
They will be applying for a new license in the near future. I will be heading the opposition to this. We do not need this business in our neighborhood and the citizens of Elyria do not need this business and the problems they cause near their new school.
The South Side Watch meets the 4th Tuesday each month at 7pm at the police station community room. This month we meet on the 24th.

its not up to the block watchers to police the city , that is what the police is for , they should be out there playing hard ball with the thugs, but i guess that drugs are not there priority!!!! as far as a liquor license , that will make no difference , there are plenty of other places for them to get alchol . does it seem to bother any of them that they dont have a license to sell drugs? license to prostitute ? untill the police show Zero tolerance for drugs in that area , it will NOT get better...
Have you been on the South side lately? The police and task force are very active and have been kicking a$$. The "in view" drug dealing and prostitution has practically disappeared. Most of the arrests are not published in the blotter but they are happening.
If you don't like how things are in this area then become involved and help find solutions.

One murder this week?? Maybe you are trying to be funny but the police have been doing a fantastic job on the south side. This murder was committed by a non-local who I heard had been in prison for a murder when he was a juvenile. How could the police have prevented this anyways?? They can't be everywhere all the time.
How can a corrput dept do a fine job?
