FLOOD WARNING FOR BLACK RIVER

The National Weather Service has upgraded the Flood Watch to a FLOOD WARNING for the Black River in Elyria.

Moderate to heavy rainfall of one to two inches fell overnight in the Great Lakes Tributary drainages. Rapid rises will be seen on several rivers today including the Black River. Additional rainfall, heavy at times, is likely tonight across the area. People with interests along these rivers: BLACK RIVER AT ELYRIA, CUYAHOGA RIVER AT OLD PORTAGE, GRAND RIVER AT PAINESVILLE, HURON RIVER NEAR MILAN and PORTAGE RIVER AT WOODVILLE should closely monitor water levels and forecasts.

REMEMBER: NEVER DRIVER YOUR CAR THROUGH FLOODED ROADWAYS. The water may be deeper than it appears.

Turn around – don’t drown!
