DILLARD'S CLOSING

BREAKING NEWS
If you happened to be shopping inside of the Dillard’s store at Midway Mall you might have felt heaviness in the air. The reason for the somber mood throughout the store is because the employees were notified just this morning that the store would be closing on May 5th.

Elyria Mayor Bill Grace said that it is sad to see the long standing anchor store closing and he worries other development in neighboring communities. “There is talk in Avon about an interchange at Nagle Road; we’re concerned that it would create even fewer opportunities for the Midway Mall area."

So sad. My Friend (since childhood we are both in 50's) just called me to tell me about the closing. Sad thing is that they had no clue and I had already read it on here. Her mother worked there from the begining when it was Higbees and retired. Now her Daughter will see it close as Dillards. How sad

This is just another sad day for Elyria. Businesses closing or moving away. Poverty on the rise. Foreclosures on the rise. More violent crimes and theft. I know the solution: A new $68 Million dollar high school will fix it!
