FLOOD WARNING FOR BLACK RIVER
The National Weather Service in Cleveland issued a FLOOD WARNING for the Black River Friday night and it extends until Sunday afternoon.
The NWS said “Observed and forecast flooding changed from minor to moderate severity for the Black River in Elyria.”
Friday at 9pm the stage was 14.0 feet. Flood stage is 9.5 feet. The river will continue to rise and crest near 14.4 feet around midnight Friday. At 14.0 feet flooding begins throughout Cascade Park in Elyria.

REMEMBER: NEVER drive your car through flooded roadways. The water could be deeper then it appears. Turn around and find another route.
UPDATE: 3pm
The National Weather Service in Cleveland has extended the FLOOD WARNING for the Black River in Elyria until Monday afternoon. Flood stage is at 9.5 feet and as of 1pm Saturday the stage was at 13.5 feet. The river will continue to fall and should drop below flood stage by Monday morning.
