ELYRIA POLICE CHASE STOLEN CAR



A Dodge Neon that was stolen from Fox’s Lair Apartment complex on West River Road North in Elyria Friday was spotted several hours later coming back into the city on Rt. 57. An Officer heading north on 57 spotted the Neon in the parking lot of Speedway gas station at Bell Ave and 57. When he pulled into the parking lot the Neon started to leave. The car began heading east on Bell Ave with the Officer right behind him. TMC NEWS was in the parking lot at the same time and observed the following. The car pulled over on Bell a short distance from the gas station. The Officer stepped out of his car and ordered the man to turn off his car and throw the keys out of the window. The driver ignored the order and drove off. The driver only got a couple blocks before other Officers arrived and boxed him in. The man was taken into custody without further incident.
UPDATE:
In custody is 21-year-old Josh Adkins of Herbert Drive in Lorain. Charges against Adkins consist of Receiving Stolen Property F-4, Possessing Criminal Tools F-5, Failure To Comply With Police Officer M-1, Operating A Vehicle Under The Influence M-1 (BAC .17), Driving Under Suspension M-1, Resisting Arrest M-2, Reckless Operation MM, Open Container MM, Stop Sign MM, Seat Belt MM and No Lights MM.
