LORAIN CHASE ENDS IN ELYRIA



A Chase that began in Lorain ended in Elyria with the F-150 that was fleeing from the Police ran into a light pole on Middle Ave and 15th Street.

Lorain Police observed the F-150 strike a pole and a stop sign in Lorain Friday night and when the Officer turned on his lights to pull the vehicle over, the driver took off. The chase went through the city of Lorain to West Ridge Road heading south towards Elyria. The vehicle entered the city on Leo Bullocks Parkway then headed south on West River. After a quick trip through Westway Garden the truck made its way to 15th Street and ended as the truck plowed into a light pole bringing it and the wires down.

The driver and passenger fled the vehicle and although the female passenger was able to get away the male driver was apprehended. He is facing an array of charges including leaving the scene of an accident and felony fleeing. It was later learned by Officers that the driver had felony warrants.

Assisting Lorain Police in the chase was Lorain County Sheriff’s Department and the Elyria Police Department.
