REST IN PEACE STUKA

In March of 2007 TMC NEWS introduced you to Elyria Police Department’s newest K-9, Stuka and his Handler, Officer Rick Walker. STORY

Today we are saddened to announce that Stuka has passed away.

Walker announced on his personal Facebook page today to his friends and family that he “had to say goodbye and let go of my loyal partner, friend and companion, K-9 Stuka.”

Walker went on to thank his co-workers and friends that has embraced them over the last seven years. He also thanked the City of Elyria for giving him the “honor” to serve as a K9 Handler.

Also hit hard by the loss of Stuka was Walker’s family who he also thanked.
Walker closed his remarks with the following message to his partner of seven years:
Stuka, thank you for the memories that will fill a lifetime of stories. Thank you for always having my back both on the job and off. For being there through the hard times and the good. Most of all, thank you for being a friend. I will always love you and will remain humbled and honored to call you my partner. May you keep on barking and letting everyone know who the boss is. I will miss you my friend!

Throughout the last seven years Stuka proved to not be camera shy as we were able to capture many photos of him in action. Check out the gallery of Stuka at work serving the City of Elyria and his handler, Officer Rick Walker.
