FIRE NEARLY DESTROYS A LORAIN HOME

Lorain – A fire that started in the basement of a home on East 32nd Street in Lorain early Easter morning quickly spread up the walls into the first floor of the home.

Lorain Firefighters spent about 30 minutes to get the fire under control. At one point the stairway leading to the basement was no longer safe for Firefighters to use so Firefighters on the outside of the home busted out basement windows to shoot water through to hit the fire.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire and there were no reported injuries. The home suffered about $50K in damages.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
