LCCC STUDENT ARRESTED FOR THREAT AGAINST ROMNEY
Elyria
– A 19 year old student was arrested at Lorain County Community College Monday
after making a threat against Presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
Elyria
Police arrested 19 year old Shaquille Brown of Elyria after he asked his
professor, “Can we leave, because Romney is in town and I want to go shoot him.”
The
Professor, stunned by what Brown had said, informed him that by law she would
have to report what he had said. She then reported it to campus security who in
turn contacted Elyria Police.
An
Officer who was working off duty at the college went to the room and placed
Brown in custody. The Officer informed Brown that he was being charged with
Inducing Panic for his threat against Mr. Romney. Brown told the Officer, “I
don’t even have a gun to do it.”
Brown
was taken to the Elyria Police Department where the Officer made contact with
the Cleveland office of the United States Secret Service. An Agent was sent to
interview Brown before he was transported to the Lorain County Jail.
