MAN HOME RECOVERING AFTER CRASH

Elyria – The man in the wheel chair who was struck while on his way to church Sunday morning is home recovering.

Brennan Williams, 39 of Elyria, was flown to MetroHealth Medical Center after he collided with 22 year old Kelli Kundrod of Elyria, in the intersection of Clark Street and Warren.

Kundrod told Police that she did not see Williams and his electric wheel chair enter the intersection. The impact toppled the chair and left Williams, a Cerebral Palsy patient, lying on the roadway.

Witnesses watched as Kundrod drove away after the crash. Police were told that Kundrod was southbound heading towards East Broad Street – then west on Broad.

Kundrod then called Police a short time later from her residence in the 200 block of Clark Street. Police went there and found Kundrod and her car parked in the driveway behind the house.

Kundrod was charged in 2008 for an Assured Clear Distance with Collision crash and was also cited in 2009 by the State Patrol in Carlisle for running a stop sign.

No charges have been filed yet.
