MAN ROBS FIRST MERIT BY MALL

Elyria – Elyria Police and FBI Agents are investigating a bank robbery that took place Thursday afternoon near the Midway Mall.
Scott Wilson of the FBI said that at 4:30 p.m. a white male in his 50’s entered the First Merit Bank at 1530 West River Road North (attached to the Applebee’s restaurant) and handed the teller a note demanding money. The Teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money to the man and he then left on foot.

No weapon was used and there were no injuries reported according to Wilson.
Wilson asked that anyone with information about the robbery to call the FBI or the Elyria Police Department.
