2nd FIRE STRIKES SAMUEL ST HOME
Elyria Township – A fire that is being called “suspicious in nature” struck a Samuel Street home Tuesday morning.
Elyria Firefighters were first called to the area of Lake Ave and Samuel Street after a cell phone caller reported a possible house fire to 9-1-1. It wasn’t until Firefighters arrived that they found out the fire was at the dead-end of Samuel.
Smoke was coming out of the top of the house when Firefighters pulled up. The fire, that started in the kitchen area and then climbed up the walls to the second level was extinguished within 15 minutes.
While working the scene Fire officials realized that the home was actually in Elyria Township’s jurisdiction. The house, 4200 Samuel, is the only house on the block that belongs in the Township.
Elyria Township Fire was called in and will handle the investigation.
