MAN FOUND DEAD IN MOBILE HOME

WIFE RUSHED TO EMERGENCY ROOM
Amherst Township – Police and Paramedics were called to the Westwood Mobile Home Park off Quarry Road Wednesday afternoon after neighbors found a man dead and his wife semi-responsive.

LifeCare Paramedics found 82 year old Betty Jones semi-responsive on a couch in their Branch Drive Mobile Home. Jones’ husband, R.L. Jones was sitting on a chair just inside the doorway and Paramedics confirmed that he had already passed away.

The couple received meals from Meals on Wheels on a daily basis, when the driver showed up Wednesday and spotted the meals from the day before still sitting on the porch steps, she grew concerned.

Sheriff’s Detectives said that a neighbor, who is a Nurse, entered the home to check on the couple and called 9-1-1.

Betty Jones was transported to the Emergency Room for what Detectives say was a dehydration and deterioration. “She was bed ridden with a lot of medical problems with nobody to take care of her and the residence was very hot when we entered. The Medics have taken her to the Emergency Room to be stabilized.”

Amherst Firefighters did a check of the residence for possible Carbon Monoxide Poisoning but the home checked clear. Detectives and the Coroner ruled the death of Mr. Jones as natural Causes.
