HEAD-ON COLLISION ON ROUTE 58
Pittsfield Township – A head-on collision in Pittsfield Township Friday sent two people by helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.
Chief Robert Walker of the Wellington Fire District said that a Toyota Camry went left of center on Route 58 between Whitney Road & Merriam Road just before noon striking a Dodge Durango. “Both drivers were trapped but the driver of the Camry was the most severe and was the more severely trapped.” Although the Durango had 3 passengers the Firefighters only had to extricate the drivers.
The driver of the Camry was flown from the scene while a second helicopter was diverted to Allen Medical Center for the driver of the Durango.
