WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT

The National Weather Service in Cleveland has upgraded the Winter Storm Watch to and WINTER STORM WARNING for the state of Ohio and Pennsylvania.

The most recent forecast calls for the storm to move into the Ohio Valley by Sunday morning. This will be a “Significant Storm” per the NWS. There is still some question as to the track and strength of the storm, however, most of the area will see heavy snow but the snow may mix with or change to sleet and freezing rain. (Mainly east of I-71 Saturday night)

Precipitation will change back to all snow on Sunday and winds will increase throughout the day on Sunday producing considerable blowing and drifting snow by the afternoon hours.

Snow accumulations are expected to range from six to 12 inches through midday Sunday, somewhat less where sleet and freezing rain occur. Winds in some areas on Sunday could reach 35 to 40 mph.

I hope everyone will drive safely if they have to be on the roads and use caution if they have to be outdoors. Patsy
