In this morning's Chronicle, Mayor Grace blamed the fact that he almost lost because of the economy. Grace just doesn't get it that the people of Elyria are tired of his jerking the Fire Dept. around and the deplorable conditions of our city's streets. Wake up Mayor Grace!

You didn't mention Ward races. My ward, 4, has a new councilman, Mark F. Craig.

Also write in Noble is showing zero votes. How is that possible? The man has family and friends. If they aren't reporting Noble's votes are they fudging the top two as well since they were so close?

Joyce, where did you look?

Noble got 268 votes

...and the headline of this article should probably read.

"GRACE SETTLES FOR ANOTHER 4 YEARS IN ELYRIA"

...after all he tried to get out and go to congress.

Yes indeed Mayor Grace came very close of loosing his job. Who is he trying to fool its because of his record as Mayor and not because of the economy as he has stated. One would guess he most likely didn’t really care if he lost or won his mind is on a higher office.

Picture this folks…I can just see it now, Mayor Graces new bumper sticker, if he had one on the back of his SUV and it reads (I Would Rather Be A Congressman)

you have got to be kidding.. He is going to run the city into the ground.. He gets a raise but is still trying to CUT out the fire Department, As one can see from the last few fires we had to go to Lorain to assist and then we had one of our own at the same time and he wants to CUT back on the staff. Before he was elected he said WE NEED 4 stations and what now that he is in WE DON'T need them anymore because he wants money to be placed elsewhere? Unbelievable. SAFETY FORCES are needed in all aspects to run a city FIRE, POLICE , & EMS. I really feel bad for the city of ELYRIA...We need people NOT for the city workers to have city vehicles, we need EQUIPMENT that runs and works and STAFF to run them...
