CRASH ON ROUTE 20
A two car crash Thursday morning sent three people to area hospitals, one victim was an infant.
Assistant Chief Mike Wetherbee of the Wellington Fire District said the initial report was a crash involving 2 cars and a semi. “Upon our arrival the Chief determined that the semi was not involved in the crash, he had just pulled over as a witness to the crash.” Although the damage was extensive Wetherbee said that none of the victims had to be extricated from the vehicles.
Trooper Myron Board of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said that Cavalier pulled out of the Marathon Gas Station onto Route 20 as the Ford Focus wagon was traveling westbound on 20. Trooper Board said that the investigation will continue but at this point the driver of the Cavalier will be charged with Failure to Yield from a Private Drive.
Central Lorain County Ambulance District EMS Supervisor Ron Stephens said that in total, four victims were transported to area hospitals. “The driver of the Focus and her daughter were taken by LifeCare Ambulance to Elyria Memorial while her adult passenger and the driver of the Cavalier were transported by our squad to Allen Medical Center Emergency Room.” Stephens said that none of the victims sustained any serious injuries.
