FAREWELL DAWN
TMC NEWS would like to extend our most sincere congratulations and best wishes to NewsChannel 5’s own Dawn Piros. Now although the only time you would have seen Dawn on air was during the Great Blackout in August of 2003. By the way, if you did see that broadcast let her know, she still believes there were only 4 viewers that day.
For the last 7 years Dawn has worked behind the scenes at NewsChannel 5 and most recently has been working the assignment desk as the Assignment Manager. Dawn’s job was to filter through all of the scheduled stories that the Photographers and Reporters were to cover on any given day and assign them. To add to the already high stress level of a newsroom that schedule would normally be destroyed within the first hour by some Breaking News. It was then that Dawn shined and relished her job the most, when the shit was hitting the fan.
Dawn has been a true friend and big supporter of TMC NEWS, a proud Gold Card carrying member at that. Dawn will be leaving NewsChannel 5 this Friday to take a job at the ABC Network in New York later this month.
We at TMC NEWS have always enjoyed working with Dawn on many stories over the last year and want to wish her all the best in her new endeavor. She will be missed but like the Jefferson’s in 1975, she is a Movin’ on Up!
