AVON LAKE MARINE UPDATE

Avon Lake Marine Lance Corporal Colin Smith, who was shot in the head while serving in Iraq, is now listed in “serious” condition. Smith was moved Sunday from Germany back to the United States and is now being treated in Bethesda at the National Naval Medical Center.

For those of you wishing to show your support to Lance Corporal Smith and his family, there is a Toys For Tots donation bin in Smith’s honor located at Avon Lake High School. Donations of new, unwrapped toys will be accepted all this week between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The Marines are looking to take in 300,000 toys this year in Lorain & Cuyahoga counties.

Lance Corporal Smith went to Iraq to make a difference in this world. Is it too much for us to travel to Avon Lake with a bagful of toys to make a difference in our community?
