537 CARS – 2 DRUNK DRIVERS

Elyria – It was round two Saturday night on West Ave just outside of the Elyria Police Station as Elyria Police Officers and Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol teamed up for the second time in setting up an OVI Checkpoint.
The Checkpoint was made possible through a grant entitled “High Visibility Enforcement.”

During the last Checkpoint 5 people were arrested for Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated. Last night after 537 cars went through the Checkpoint only 2 people were cited for OVI. Others were cited for misdemeanors.
