CRASH VICTIMS NAMES RELEASED
Officials have released the names of the four victims that were killed in this afternoon’s plane crash at the Lorain County Airport.
The two passengers were 89 year old Donald Brown and his 87 year old wife Shirley Brown both of Vermilion.
The Pilot was identified as 30 year old Wesley Roemer and the fourth victim is 46 year old John Mengelson who was believed to be a mechanic, both men were from Florida.
All victims have been recovered and removed from the scene. Mrs. Brown was the 4th victim to be found, she had been ejected during the crash and was found under the wreckage.
The plane, a Mitsubishi MU-2B-60, reportedly flew in low, just barely clearing the fence, before it crashed nose first into the ground then flipped over several times before coming to rest in the field.
Mr. Brown is the inventor of the drop ceiling and lived on a massive lake front estate on Route 6 in Vermilion.
