Update 3:00pm: The National Weather Service has just upgraded the WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY to a WINTER STORM WARNING for Northeast Ohio. The WARNING will be in effect until 10 a.m. Saturday morning.

Widespread snow will continue into Friday while transitioning to Lake Effect Snow Showers which will then continue into Saturday before tapering to light snow showers and flurries.

Most locations should see 3 to 5 inches of snow by Friday morning and another 3 to 5 inches by Saturday morning. Both primary and secondary snowbelts will be affected – this means the heavier snowfall will also affect Lorain County.

A WINTER STORM WARNING is issued when severe winter weather is expected. Heavy snow and or ice will cause hazardous driving conditions. If you will be traveling in the warning area you should choose an alternate route if possible, or you should use extreme caution if travel is unavoidable.
