1 COUNT FELONIOUS ASSAULT
Amherst – Sunday at 8:14 PM, the Amherst Police Department received a call of a domestic complaint that had taken place at 616 Brennan Dr, the residence of 38-year-old Greg Hardwick.

When Officers responded to the area they found Hardwick’s live-in girlfriend 39-year-old Evelyn Koepke with a large amount blood on her face. Officers also made contact with Koepke's 17-year-old son who also suffered from minor injuries. Both Koepke and her son were eventually transported to Amherst Hospital where they were treated. Officers received information that Hardwick may also be injured.

Officers responded to the residence of Hardwick where he had been observed by neighbors closing the doors and drapes. Officers pounded on both the front and rear doors with no reply from Hardwick. A warrant was issued for Hardwick for the crime of Domestic Violence.

Officers on scene set up a perimeter around the residence then called for additional resources. Upon the arrival of additional police units, Officers made entry into the residence where Hardwick was found bleeding in the bathroom. At approximately 10:30 PM, Hardwick was taken into custody without further incident and later transported to Community Health Partners for treatment to a cut on his head.

Once released from the hospital, Hardwick was formally charged with Felonious Assault; (F2) and two counts of Domestic Violence; (F3). He was then transported to the Lorain County Jail and held without bond pending his appearance in Oberlin Municipal Court on Tuesday morning.

The 17-year old was treated and released; Koepke was transferred to Elyria Memorial Hospital. Her condition is unknown but does not appear to be life threatening.

Prior to making entry, officers confirmed no one else was in the residence, there were no weapons, and Hardwick may have been in need of immediate medical care.
