MOTHER AND SON TAKEN TO HOSPITAL

Amherst – An Amherst man was taken into custody late Sunday night on Brennan Drive in Amherst after a short stand off with Police.

Police were called to the home Sunday night after the man reportedly assaulted his girlfriend. The girlfriend’s son then assaulted the man.

The woman and her son were both treated by LifeCare Ambulance Paramedics and then both transported to Amherst Hospital Emergency Room for further treatment and evaluation.

Police were unable to make contact with the man inside of the residence so after some careful planning they made entry through the rear of the home and took the man into custody without incident.

The man was taken to the Amherst Police Station where Officers are sorting through the situation.
