FIGHT FANS LOVED ROUND TWO

Sheffield Village – Fight fans packed into Quaker Steak & Lube Friday night for 11 fast paced, action packed fights. ALL inside the cage.

We’ll deal with the security concerns right off the top. Under the direction of Captain Larry Bliss and the Sheffield Village Police Department a dozen Officers and private security personel kept the peace outside of the cage all night Friday. Guests attending said they thought the changes that the promoters from Superior Cage Fighting made to make the venue a more secure area for fight fans. Kenny Evans brought his two sons and said that he was thrilled when he saw the Officers from Sheffield Village posted in nearly every corner of the venue. “It was awesome, I was only slightly concerned about it but as soon as I came in and saw the changes and the Officers I knew everything would be fine and it was.”

Promoters contracted Safe & Reliable Limo service to provide Limo Buses for the fighters to use as dressing rooms just outside of the gigantic tent that they rented. Instead of the fighters making a long walk through the crowd like they did at the last fight, they had a mere 20 foot walk from the entrance to the cage.

Police and security personel were prepared to toss people who started any trouble at all but in the end nobody had to be ejected – outside the cage all was peacful.

Inside the cage on the other hand fans were treated to some wild matches with 5 TKO’s, 3 *Rear Naked Chokes (RNC), 1 Triangle Choke, 1 Technical Draw and 1 by Unanimous Decision.

There was one frightening moment when Elyria’s own Marcus Washington collapsed in the cage while waiting for the decision. Doctors and Paramedics entered the cage and ended up with Washington being taken out of the cage, fully imobilized on a backboard with headblocks, by Sheffield Village Fire Department Paramedics. Washington was taken to the Fire Department’s triage area where an ambulance transported him to the Emergency Room. The triage area was kept busy with Paramedics treating and transporting 4 fighters to the hospital with various injuries.

Washington had not eaten all day in an attempt to drop weight and didn’t have time to eat before the fight. The exhaustion caught up to him in the cage after going all three rounds with Adam Sadney. Although Washington dominated the first two rounds the judges called the fight as a Technical Draw.

While leaving the fight fans said they hope the Fight Series continues at Quaker Steak. Josh Hutchison of Bedford came with three of his friends and said he will be back for Round Three. “I’ll definatley be back for another one. My friends have been to the other ones and said they really liked the changes. I just liked everything about it, the ring girls are smokin hot, the food was great and the fights were vicious. I have been to cage fights before and usually you don’t see as many quality fights as I saw here tonight. These guys seemed like they were all well trained and ready to win. Yeah, I’ll be headin back out here whenever they have this again.”
