SUSPICIOUS FIRE DESTROYS TRUCK
A suspicious fire destroyed a 1999 Ford Ranger late last night as the owner was sleeping in his house. The owner of the truck, who asked not to be identified, said that he was sleeping when Officers pounded on his door alerting him to the fire.
The Ranger was parked next to a motorcycle and the owner’s garage that is located on the 8th Street Alley just off of Middle Ave. Elyria Firefighters arrived and extinguished the blaze that was quickly spreading to the garage. Once the fire was put out and Firefighters were able to get closer and examine the truck a large cinder block was discovered on the drivers seat.
The Elyria Fire Department Fire Prevention Bureau was called to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire. The owner of the truck, who has rental properties throughout the city of Elyria and in Cleveland, said he is not sure who would have done this to him but said that he has some renters who he has had problems with in the past. “No matter what those problems were I didn’t deserve this, nobody deserves this.”
With only liability insurance on the truck it was a total loss.

That's a shame. After seeing this, I may keep full coverage on my vehicle.
