SNOW FALLS - CARS CRASH
The first real snow fall struck Lorain County today and with it came poor visibility and slick roads. Area Police, Fire and EMS were kept busy throughout the day running from crash to crash. Most of the crashes were minor fender benders while others had cars rolling over and drivers going to area hospitals.
Carlisle Township – Route 301 south of Diagonal Road
This truck was northbound on Route 301 in Carlisle Township when the driver lost control and slide into a ditch. The truck hit the ditch and rolled end over end landing on its roof. Firefighters were able to extricate the two people from the truck through the passenger side window.
Paramedics from LifeCare and Central Lorain County Ambulance District transported both victims to Elyria Memorial Hospital

Avon – I-90 Eastbound near Route 611
Carlisle Township – Route 301 south of Diagonal Road

Avon – I-90 Eastbound near Route 611
This multi car crash in Avon on I-90 just east of Route 611 tied up traffic while Police and Fire secured the scene. No injuries were reported from this crash.

Ohio Turnpike – I-80 Eastbound near North Abbe
This crash involving a semi and passenger car on the Ohio Turnpike sent the two passengers from the car to Elyria Memorial Hospital with non-critical injuries.

The National Weather Service in Cleveland reports that before this weather event is over that Mother Nature will have dropped between 5 and 9 inches of snow throughout the area. Forecast for tonight calls for more snow, ending around 1 a.m. with a possibility of an additional inch of accumulation.
