WINTER WEATHER ALERT

The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for Lorain County beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday night through 6 a.m. Sunday morning.

The advisory says that freezing rain and sleet will spread across Northern Ohio this evening including some snow during the evening hours later tonight. Warmer weather will move into the area from the southwest causing the freezing precipitation to quickly change to rain from southwest to northeast after midnight.

By sunrise Sunday temperatures in most areas are expected to be in the mid 30’s. Snow accumulations tonight will be less than an inch but up to a tenth of an inch of ice accumulation is possible.

If you are planning on going out tonight or tomorrow morning be prepared for a variety of winter weather and dangerous conditions on roadways.
