ANOTHER CAR UP IN FLAMES
Elyria Firefighters responded to 12th Street and West Ave for a car fire Tuesday afternoon. The car, still displaying the 30-day tags, was fully involved when Ladder 7 arrived on scene.
Captain Jim Cawley of the Elyria Fire Department said the owner of Chrysler Sebring had just parked the car and went into his home on the corner, when he came out a few minutes later he found it on fire. Firefighters quickly attacked the fire and extinguished the blaze, even with a limited water supply. Ladder 7 only has a 200-gallon tank unlike Engines, which hold 750 gallons. Firefighters are running Ladder 7 out of the downtown station when manpower levels dictate that station 2 be closed. Captain Cawley said that in both calls they had to lay a supply line to Ladder 7, “In this case it wasn’t as critical because the vehicle wasn’t close to a structure like we had over the weekend where the truck was parked next to the garage and the fire had started spreading.”
Captain Cawley said that unlike the truck fire over the weekend, this fire did not seem suspicious in nature.

I'm glad no one was inside the car, no one got hurt and no one lost their home. Patsy
