MOTORCYCLIST IN CRITICAL CONDITION
A single motorcycle crash in Carlisle Township Sunday afternoon leaves one biker in critical condition.
Carlisle Township Firefighters and LifeCare Ambulance Paramedics responded to Oberlin-Elyria Road just west of Butternut Ridge Road after 23-year-old Russell Hoban of Wellington lost control of his bike and crashed.
Sergeant Gullet of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said that Hoban was driving a 1983 Honda V45 Magnum motorcycle eastbound on Oberlin-Elyria Road when “for reasons unknown at this time” he went off the right side of the road. Witnesses who were traveling westbound on Oberlin-Elyria road at the time of the crash said that they saw as Hoban was ejected from the bike and flipped in the air coming to rest ahead of the bike. LifeCare Paramedics transported Hoban to Elyria Memorial Hospital. Hoban was then LifeFlighted a short time later to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland where he is in critical condition.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
