FIREFIGHTER RECOVERING WELL
The Family of Florence Township Firefighter Pat Finnegan Sr. says that he is recovering well from his surgery and cracking jokes at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.
Firefighter Finnegan was directing traffic Tuesday night at a crash on Route 113 and Gore Orphanage Road when a Ford Focus struck him. The driver of the car, not yet identified, was an 80 year old man who is friends with the family. In Emails to TMC NEWS the family wants people to know that they are not angry with the driver and they continue to pray for him along with their father.
Sean Finnegan, Pat’s son who is also a Firefighter and EMT, said he and his family wants to thank everyone for their kindness. “We want to say thank you to all who are praying for our father, it is greatly appreciated. We want everyone to know that as far as the driver of the car that hit him goes, our family is praying for him as well. This man is 80 years old and is a family friend. Tuesday night he was distracted by the lights of Metro LifeFlight lifting off from the accident scene and simply didn’t see my father. He was NOT on a cell phone, no radio or any other distractions were involved.”
The Finnegan family wishes to reiterate how important it is for drivers to be very cautious around scenes with emergency personnel and vehicles.
