INFORMATIVE AND FUN TOO
Vicki Kuzak, Manager of Wilkes Villa said that today’s event was to help get information out to the families of her complex. “This is an Informational Family Fun Fair, we want to empower our residents and give them information that they might not otherwise have and have some fun things for the kids to enjoy.”
Participating in today’s event: Elyria City Schools, Joint Vocational School, Elyria Parks & Recreation, Boys & Girls Club, Horizon Day Care, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, Elyria Police, Elyria Fire and LifeCare Ambulance
This is Kuzak’s first year as Manager of Wilkes Villa and she said she got the idea for the event from searching the internet. “Other housing authorities have done similar things, most of the other ones that I have seen focus on the elderly but I didn’t see a lot for the family development and so we wanted to do that for them.”
Families were treated to free beverages, hot dogs & chips. The Elyria Firefighters were doing various demonstrations for the kids and LifeCare’s own Andy the Ambulance made an appearance entertaining the kids.
