An elderly man drove up over top of two parked cars in the parking lot of McDonalds on East Broad Street this morning. The man drove over a curb, some shrubs and then two cars belonging to McDonalds employees. Both parked cars were unoccupied at the time of the crash. No injuries were reported.
I hate old people. They smell like pee and they scare me when they look at me. I sometimes wonder what it will be like to be old... Then again I wonder why tires aren't square... So maybe I'm not such a deep thinker.

My test for elderly drivers consists of one additional facet of the gamut of driver competence. At some point during the driver's licence test, at the testor's discretion, they should throw a red ball at the head of the driver. If they can't at least deflect it, no licence. If you can't get a paw on a ball tossed at your head, you shouldn't be driving a 5,000lb chunk of iron. If you can't accept that then you are probably old and have slow reflexes and are easily distrac....Hey look! Matlock's on!!!
No elderly people should drive - but what is elderly. My 80's plus mom wrecked her car (no injuries)and I will not let her have another. But when it came time to renew her license - she passed the sight test! How can that be? She is legally blind with no peripherial vision. Blame the DMV - and the lack of public transportation. All need to get to the doctor, the store, etc. and for most there is no way to do that. Currently I cart around 3 elderly people every Saturday to do their errands. I figure mom carted me around for 16 years.....at least I can do the same.
