MOTORCYCLIST CRITICAL AFTER CRASH
Elyria – A South Amherst man is in critical condition after a crash late last night on Lowell Street near Penfield.
Police say 53 year old Scottie Scott of South Amherst was traveling on Lowell Street Monday night when 26 year old Jessica Garcia of Elyria pulled off of Penfield and into the path of Scott.
Garcia, who was on her way to work, believed she had time to make the left turn onto Foster.
When Paramedics and Firefighters arrived on scene they found Scott on the ground and began treating him. Almost immediately Firefighters requested Lorain County 9-1-1 Dispatchers to have a helicopter sent to Elyria Memorial Hospital. Scott was flown from EMH to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland shortly after he arrived.
Garcia refused any treatment or transport from LifeCare.
The crash remains under investigation and no charged have been filed yet.
