FIRE DESTROYS LAGRANGE HOME
Story & Photos by BRIAN WOODS
LaGrange Township – Fire officials in LaGrange are still investigating what caused an early morning fire at 39038 State Route 303 but they say the winds aided the blaze in spreading quickly and destroying the home.
It took an ODOT worker who was plowing snow to spot the fire and call 9-1-1 as nobody was inside of the home at the time of the fire.
When Firefighters from LaGrange Township Fire & Rescue arrived on scene the home was already fully involved. With assistance from Wellington, Carlisle, Grafton Township and Oberlin Fire Departments the blaze was brought under control in about an hour.
The fire, which fire officials believe started in the family room, caused in excess of $150K and the home has been deemed a total loss.
