MAN SHOT INSIDE 8th ST HOME

Elyria – Detectives from the Elyria Police Department are investigating a shooting that occurred at 215 8th Street just after noon on Tuesday.

The victim told Police that a man entered his home and shot him in the leg before fleeing.

The suspect was described as a black male – 6’ to 6’2” – wearing all black clothing and a ski mask with one hole for the eyes.

LifeCare Paramedics treated the victim at the scene before transporting him to Elyria Memorial. He was later flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.

Although Police searched the area and went door to door throughout the neighborhood no suspects were found. There was approximately a ten-minute time lapse from the time of the shooting to when Police were called.

Elyria High School was on an exterior lock down during the incident.
