THAT’S A LOT OF PCP
Dayton – Two Las Vegas women are facing felony charges after being indicted by a grand jury yesterday following a March 12 incident where Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized 10 gallons of liquid phencyclidine (PCP) valued at $3 million. This seizure is the largest amount of PCP the Patrol has ever seized in a single traffic stop.
The driver, Lisandra Pearson, 22, and Dianira Garcia, 24, were both charged with aggravated possession of liquid PCP, a first-degree felony.
On March 12, troopers stopped a rented 2009 Cadillac Escalade for a following too closely violation and turn signal violations eastbound on Interstate 70 near milepost 7 in Preble County at approximately 11:57 a.m. Criminal indicators were observed and a Patrol drug-detecting canine alerted positively to the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed a total of 10 individual gallons of liquid PCP hidden in a locked suitcase.
If convicted, both Pearson and Garcia could face up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
In 2008, the Patrol seized more than 5.2 million grams of illegal narcotics valued at approximately $47.5 million.
