MOTORCYCLIST INJURED ON 113

Henrietta Township – A collision between a car and motorcycle early Saturday night has sent a motorcyclist to Cleveland by helicopter.

Trooper JP Toth of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said a white Camry was traveling south on Baumhart Road when it came up to the intersection of Route 113. The driver of the Camry, having a green traffic light, attempted to make a left turn onto 113 when a motorcycle traveling north on Baumhart was crossing the intersection. β€œThe driver of the Camry failed to yield when turning left, causing the motorcycle to strike the right rear quarter panel of the Camry causing the crash.”

Firefighters from South Amherst Fire along with Paramedics from Central Lorain County Ambulance District treated the motorcyclist at the scene and transported him to Allen Medical Center in Oberlin. A Metro LifeFlight helicopter was called to meet them at the hospital – the victim was then flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland for further evaluation.

A Medical Supervisor on the scene said that the victim left the scene in stable condition.

The people in the Camry refused any treatment or transport.

Toth said that the driver of the Camry was cited for Failure to Yield when Turning Left.
