U-TURN PROVES TO BE A BAD MOVE
Elyria – A U-Turn late Friday night on Route 57 proved costly for one woman as she slammed head-on into a car while trying to make one at Beachwood.
Witnesses say they saw the woman traveling south on 57 in her black Chevy S-10 when she attempted to make a U-Turn at Beachwood (near the old American Fitness). While making the turn the S-10 slammed into a car traveling southbound on 57. The head-on collision spun the cars around before coming to rest in the middle of the intersection.
LifeCare Paramedics treated the driver of the S-10 on scene and transported her to Elyria Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.
Witnesses say that the woman told them that she mistakenly exited Route 90 onto 57 and she was trying to get back up onto 90 when she made the U-Turn.
Police cited the woman for making the turn.
