2 CARS COLLIDE – 8 INJURED

Henrietta Township – A two car crash on Vermilion Road in Henrietta Township Wednesday afternoon send 8 people to area hospitals.

According to State Troopers on the scene 20-year-old Jordan Dzit of Wakeman was traveling west on Garfield Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign at Vermilion Road.

Dzit’s car ran into a black Suburban that was traveling south on Vermilion Road. The collision spun Dzit’s car and sent the Suburban, with its 7 occupants, off the road – taking out a stop sign and fire hydrant before coming to rest in someone’s front yard.

Florence Township Firefighters and Paramedics from Central Lorain County Ambulance District responded and quickly realized that they would need additional help with the amount of victims that they had in front of them.

LifeCare Ambulance sent two squads with Citizens sending one.

All victims were carefully removed from the Suburban, and loaded into ambulances.

Dzit was sitting in the front seat of a State Patrol car when Paramedics began treating him. Medic Supervisors on scene said that none of the injuries were considered life threatening. All 8 victims were transported to Allen Medical Center in Oberlin.

Troopers say that Dzit will be charged with Failure to Yield a Stop Sign.
