FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT
The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a FLOOD WARNING for the Black River in Elyria and will continue until 9 p.m. Thursday night.
At 9 a.m. Wednesday morning the stage was 11.6 feet (Flood stage is 9.5 feet) and slowly rising. Minor flooding is occurring and more minor flooding is forecasted.
The river will continue to rise and crest around 11.9 feet this evening. The river is expected to fall below flood stage Thursday afternoon. At 11 feet flooding begins in low-lying areas near the river in Elyria.
Ford Road in Elyria is closed at the bridge due to high water.
At 9.5 feet flooding begins south of Elyria in Carlisle Township.
Remember: NEVER drive through flooded roadways! The water may be deeper than it appears. Turn around and find another route.
