A crash on East Ave in Elyria Saturday night sent two victims to Elyria Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
The car was traveling north on East Ave at a high rate of speed Saturday night when the driver lost control after making the curve in the 1100 block. The driver over corrected and went off the right side of the road striking a utility pole caving in the passenger side door.

The car was in the front yard of Joyce Daniels who was on the computer at the time of the crash. “I heard the crash, actually it sounded like two big crashes so when I looked out I thought I was going to see two cars smashed up.” Daniels said that when she saw the car and the people inside were not getting out she immediately called 9-1-1 for help.
Joe Jenkins said that this type of thing happens a lot on this stretch of road. “It is just stupidity. That is what the problem is; it’s just plain stupidity. That and there are not enough of these guys (pointing to the Police Officers at the scene) but they can’t be everywhere even if we had more Officers. These guys were flying and everybody in town knows that curve is there, but they defy it and this is what we get.”
