BANK ROBBER JUST 3 MINUTES LATE

Here’s a story I am sure Jason will be touching on this Sunday. A man reportedly went to the Lorain National Bank on Kansas Ave Tuesday evening with the intention of robbing the bank. The man had about everything you would need to rob a bank, the red ski mask covering his face and a nickel plated gun. The problem is he arrived at the bank at 5:03 p.m.; 3 minutes too late. The employees of the bank had already locked the inside doors.

The would-be bank robber apparently also forgot about having a getaway car at the ready. After discovering that he was a tad late to hold up the bank he ran across the street and, at gunpoint, stole a man’s 1991 black Ford Taurus. The man was last seen heading east on Randall Street. No injuries were reported.

Suspect description: Black male in his 20’s; 5’8 / 5’10” tall; short dark hair wearing black jogging pants, white tennis shoes and a camouflage jacket.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lorain Police Department or the Elyria FBI office.

I'm surprised that this didn't rate a D'OH.
Maybe he didn't have a watch to set his time by? Unfortunately, he'll probably know better next time.
Unbelievable. Hope he is caught before he can correct his mistakes.
Can't wait to see Jason's take on this weeks crime stories. Patsy

Ah, where to begin? First off, someone should tell this moron (his real name is Morgan Ronald, but his friends all call him "mo-ron") to always call ahead and check what the bank's hours are. Next, check your watch to make sure it is correct (call time and temperature so you can also be dressed properly for the weather). Also, carry a deposit slip with you so you can deposit the stolen money into your own account (this will throw off the police since you won't have the money on you when you're caught). May also want to see if bank has any incentives (i.e. free toaster) if you open up a new account (why not get the money plus a free gift?). Has anyone ever thought of writing "Bankrobbing for Dummies?"
The sad part of this story is that it was a serviceman's call that he carjacked. Here's hoping mo-ron is taken off the streets quick.

Unbelievable! You guys have to be just as moronic for making these comments. Not to minimize his crimes, but do you know this young man or what took him to the bank that day? If you knew this man as nothing but warm-hearted and kind, would you think it was funny? If you were close to this young man and knew that he didn't have a malicious bone in his body, would this still be funny? If this man was your brother, grandson or nephew, would you think it was funny? We don't. At least he had the courage to step up while you guys are posting this crap as anonymous. I will spare you his story, all that we ask is that you spare his family the humiliation. We are already devastated.

In response, no I do not know what took him to the bank that day with a GUN trying to rob a bank and put other people's lives in danger. I do know many "warm-hearted and kind" people who do not threaten other people with weapons. Yes, I think it is funny, but moreso pathetic that someone would resort to attempting harming another person. If it were a relative, I would laugh right in his face for his stupidity. Does it take "courage" to "step up" with a gun. I definitely don't think so. My comments were not posted as anonymous and neither is this one since I'll stand behind my comments.
Now, on a serious note, did this person exhaust all other avenues of help? Lorain County has avenues of support available such as the Red Cross, the Salvation Army, local churches and shelters, the Nord Center, and El Centro de Services just to name a few. I doubt if this person approached any of those organizations asking for help that they would tell him to go rob a bank. Don't give me any of your pontificating on what a wonderful person he is unless you know he tried any and all other avenues of seeking help (whatever his problems are) before resorting to the actions he took. Those actions are not justifiable under any circumstances. He committed multiple crimes (both felony and misdemeanor) and now deserves the results of his actions.

if you were paying attention you would see that I was asking that you spare his family anymore humiliation. They are not guilty of anything and this man hasn't even been to trial and you already have him guilty. You are exactly what's wrong with society. You don't know the facts.

What is wrong with our society is those who make EXCUESSES ALL THE TIME instead of taking responsibility for their OWN actions.!!!!!!!!!!!! His family is not responsible for his actions....he alone is, that's unless your going to blame his family for years and years of making him into a criminal. He is a criminal and nothing less than a criminal. Get over it!!!

Jim / Karl - I pray that one day you find humility in your hearts. Don't judge lest you be judged. Jesus loves the sinners, not the righteous. Peace - please.

verucasalt....If I'm not mistaken...doesn't the Bible also say something about thou shall obey the LAWS of the land?

I find it hard to believe that Jesus would love a gun-wielding person who is willing to threaten the lives of others for his own personal gain. I must have missed that lesson in Sunday School when I was a child. I also tried to list various sources of help for this individual before he went to the (unnecesary) extreme of committing a crime. Did he exhaust all those avenues????

I did not say that the crime is "allowed" - just forgiven, my brothers.

Karl,
You should really have all the facts before you go running off at the mouth. You don't have all the facts & the ones that you believe you have are not all correct.
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone!
