CIRCLE K ROBBED

A man walked into the Circle K on East Broad Street near Kipling around 3am Wednesday morning and robbed the store of a 12 pack of beer and all the money in the register. The clerk who contacted the Elyria Police after the robbery described the man as white, 5’9, wearing a black hoodie and tan Carhartt pants. The clerk also said the suspect had what appeared to be black makeup on around his eyes and also above his lip trying to make a fake mustache. The man was last seen running from the store eastbound on Broad Street.

Approximately 30 minutes after the first report a Lorain County Sheriff’s Deputy spotted the man in the area of Prospect and Taylor Street behind Chris’ bar. Elyria Police Officers and the Deputies searched the area and found the suspect hiding in the yards. The suspect still had some of the money on him but had ditched the beer in a neighbors yard; the Police also recovered it.
